We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager for a part-time role based in Halifax.
Hours: 4 days per week (28 hours)
Salary: £36,400 pro rata
Location: Halifax
This is a varied and hands-on finance role, responsible for the financial management, reporting, and control across a multi-income stream organisation. The successful candidate will take ownership of management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring strong financial controls and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts with commentary
- Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Management of multiple income streams (grants, contracts, trading, and other income sources)
- Support with audit preparation and statutory compliance
- Maintenance of financial controls and procedures
- Oversight of payroll, HMRC, and pension processes
- Support to operational teams with financial insight and reporting
- Line management of a Finance Officer
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience in a finance role within charity, housing, public sector, or not-for-profit environments
- Strong management accounting and budgeting experience
- Ability to manage multi-income stream organisations
- Strong understanding of financial controls and reporting
- Experience with Sage accounting systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
Desirable:
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or part-qualified
- Experience with audit processes and financial compliance
- Previous line management experience
