Engagement and Training Practitioner (Domestic Abuse)

Role: Engagement and Training Practitioner (Domestic Abuse)Based: West YorkshireRate: Β£18 – 20phStart Date: ASAP – July 2025Duration: 6 months (with a permanent opportunity available at the end of the contract)Hours: Part Time – 22.5 hoursFlexibility on how/ when the hours are worked – between Monday to Friday 8.30 – 1700Our client, a specialist Domestic Violence charity who work with Black and Minoritised Women and Girls is looking for an Engagement and Training Practitioner to deliver bespoke and targeted training packages across West Yorkshire. You will be develop and deliver information packages and training on a range of domestic abuse related topics including types of domestic abuse, the impact domestic abuse has on Black and Minoritised Women and Girls, signs and referral pathways, how to support victims, gender-based violence (including FGM, Forced Married and Honour Based Violence), teenage relationships/ toxic masculinity, healthy relationships and consent.You will be delivering packages in Schools, Colleges and Universities (to both students and staff), Housing Associations, Local Councils, Parliamentary Bodies, NHS Services (GPs, A&E etc), the Police and other Third and Statutory Organisations.You will organise and deliver awareness campaigns, events, and workshops to educate the community about domestic abuse, its effects, and the specific challenges faced by BME Women and Girls.The successful candidate will work to build sustainable relationships with local services, professionals and statutory agencies and to work in partnership to raise awareness and break the stigma and stereotypes surrounding gender based violence.Essential Requirements:Experience of supporting victims of domestic abuse and a sound understanding of domestic abuse and VAGW servicesExperience of training (including structured, ad hoc and bespoke) and/or delivery of programmesFor more information, please call the team on (phone number removed) and ask to speak to Ria or email us your CV atSupporting Futures Consulting acts as both an employer and an agency
