An excellent opportunity has become available with an established housing provider that delivers supported housing and tenancy sustainment services across Cheshire East. The organisation supports vulnerable individuals to maintain stable accommodation, develop independent living skills, and achieve positive outcomes within their communities.

Vacancy Brief:

  • The role is for a Tenancy Sustainment & Floating Support Officer.
  • This is a temporary vacancy for approximately 3–5 months with the potential to become permanent.
  • The role covers Crewe CW1, Nantwich, Sandbach and Middlewich with one day in the office, based in Stoke ST4.
  • The successful candidate will provide floating support across five small, supported housing schemes; managing their own diaries.
  • This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week. The pay rate is £14.00 PAYE or £18.01 Umbrella.
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with one office-based day per week (Friday) in Stoke-on-Trent.
  • An Enhanced DBS covering Adult and Child Workforce is required.
  • A full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle are essential.
  • Mileage will be paid for all authorised work-related travel (subject to business insurance).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of vulnerable tenants, providing practical and person-centred support to help them sustain their tenancies and maintain independent living.
  • Deliver advice and guidance around budgeting, debt management, welfare benefits, rent payments, income maximisation and tenancy responsibilities.
  • Carry out regular support sessions, risk assessments, support plans and reviews, ensuring accurate records are maintained at all times.
  • Build positive working relationships with local authorities, support providers, healthcare professionals and community organisations to promote positive outcomes for tenants.
  • Monitor rent accounts, support tenants to address arrears, and work proactively to reduce the risk of tenancy failure and homelessness.
  • Investigate and address tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour and safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational policies and housing legislation.
  • Conduct property visits and welfare checks across multiple schemes, ensuring accommodation standards are maintained and tenant wellbeing is supported.
  • Contribute to the effective management of voids, tenancy sign-ups, move-ons and tenancy terminations where required.
  • Promote independence, resilience and engagement, empowering tenants to achieve their personal goals and sustain long-term housing outcomes.

  • Previous experience within Supported Housing, Housing Management, Floating Support, Homelessness, Tenancy Sustainment or a related field.
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, tenancy management and homelessness prevention.
  • Strong communication, organisation and case management skills.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple locations.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach to supporting tenants.
