Children and Families Worker for Norwich Area United Reformed Church Mission Partnership

We are a Mission Partnership of 4 churches, with active children and families work in two of them, which we want to develop and expand.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team, alongside a newly appointed minister.

Description of Job

1. Support and develop the overall vision of the Mission Partnership in relation to Children and Families’ work, currently in relation to Ipswich Road and Wroxham.
2. Continue to grow and encourage existing work with children and families.
3. Lead regular Collective Worship in the local Primary Schools and develop relationships with the schools and their children and families.
4. Build and maintain effective relationships with the young families with which the Church comes into contact and provide a pastoral ear for all connected families.
5. Plan (with others) and lead Messy Church, to work with leaders to plan and deliver JAM (‘Jesus and Me’) sessions at Wroxham together with supporting and/or leading other activities.
6. Develop a plan for activities during the school holidays.
7. Plan intergenerational social activities and explore opportunities for older children.
8. Help lead All Age Worship occasionally on Sunday morning.
9. Have regular interaction with, co-ordination of, and support for the volunteers.
10. Provide the publicity and promotion of all activities through email, social media and other media.
11. Provide regular updates in the newsletters and Church Meetings.
12. Participate in the Mission Partnership Leadership team.
13. Look at the provision of children’s work in the communities with a view to developing new groups.
14. Participate in some Sunday morning worship and other aspects of church life.
15. Network with other churches, schools and other voluntary organisations or develop new activities.
16. Support children and families’ work in the other churches in the Mission Partnership as requested from the Mission Partnership Leadership Team.
