We are looking to appoint a Pioneer who will use contemporary music to reach people aged 18-30 with the message that God is for all. The appointee will be musical, with a heart for sharing the love of God. In line with the Methodist Church, you will need to be an inclusive, justice-seeking Christian.
The Faith through Music Pioneer will use music as a missional tool to build relationships, enable encounters with God and support people as they explore faith and grow as disciples of Jesus. They will develop and grow a volunteer Mission Team, deliver music-based events and activities, facilitate small group exploration of faith and pioneer the formation of a new Christian community.
The project will run from Cathays Methodist Church in Cardiff, at the heart of a diverse community mainly populated by students and young professionals. The successful candidate will work supported by the Minister and members of Cathays Methodist Church and under the line management of the Cardiff University Methodist Chaplain. They will be accountable to the project's steering group and will work within the life, discipline and values of the Methodist Church.
