What will I be doing?

  • Establishing a realistic short term supply plan that satisfies the MPS, direct customer orders and stock policy targets.
  • Testing the feasibility of the plan by performing detailed capacity planning and resolving imbalances.
  • Defining the supply parameters in the ERP item file within their scope of activity which are consistent with stock targets and the industrial strategy.
  • Participating in the MRP validation process then analysing and processing exception messages (increase/decrease, progress, delay, cancel an order etc.) resulting from the MRP.
  • Confirming and communicating requirements and changes resulting from the MRP to the internal supplier by confirming any necessary modifications that are to be made.
  • Launching and sequencing the production orders to reduce non-value added time (including subcontracting of phases) in line with ERP recommendations.
  • Printing the Routing Cards for Manufacturing.
  • Reserving human and material resources and checking the feasibility of the plan by carrying out detailed capacity planning.
  • Obtaining acknowledgement from other UAPs for any changes or modifications to requirements.
  • Negotiating deadlines and quantities with internal suppliers within the limits of the service level agreement established.
  • Providing information and visibility necessary to the internal customers (grab list/load capacity) and suggesting solutions in case of imbalances.
  • Monitoring and analysing the impacts of manufacturing defects in terms of yield and if necessary rescheduling requirements to ensure commitments can be met, working with the external scheduler to ensure yield is factored into future planning.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the stock levels by monitoring the receipting of supplier deliveries and the closing of production orders to ensure that production schedules are updated.
  • Measuring and analysing performance in coordination with the manufacturing unit using the defined metrics and providing the required weekly/monthly reports.
  • Analysing the root cause of metrics not at target level and working with the Manufacturing unit to develop the necessary action/recovery plans.
  • Overseeing the progress of manufacturing on the internal supplier's unit, managing delivery receipts, following the flow through to reception of articles, managing administrative disputes and organising supplier returns.
  • Managing sub-con processes.
  • Organising visits where appropriate to the internal supplier's unit to discuss short term performance issues.
  • Establishing and implementing action plans to limit uncertainties and hazards in the short term horizon and working with the internal supplier to shorten production cycles within their manufacturing process.
  • Analysing the impacts of requests for technical modifications and other changes within their scope of activity and implementing the action plans after these requests have been validated.
  • Being responsible for the closing and archiving of production orders.

What do you need from me?

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the principles of MRP2.
  • Basic knowledge of business economics.
  • Understanding the basic rules of customs and transport.
  • Familiarity with the organisation of their unit and having a detailed vision of the production processes and supply chain.
  • Apics BSCM Tools.
  • Familiarity with the information systems used in the Supply Chain: i.e. ERP, Supplier Portal.
  • Familiarity with desktop tools.
