The role
The core of this role is data protection and privacy law. You will advise a varied client base on UK GDPR, PECR, and the DPA 2018, handling matters from day-to-day compliance advisory through to complex regulatory questions. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to develop or apply experience in UK and EU telecoms regulation (the Communications Act, Ofcom frameworks, and the European Electronic Communications Code). The role also involves support on IT and commercial matters as part of the firm's wider TMT practice.
What we are looking for
- Essential:
- 2–4 years PQE with solid, demonstrable experience in data protection and privacy law
- Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, PECR, and the DPA 2018
- Experience advising clients directly and producing high-quality written regulatory advice
- Ability to manage matters independently and handle client relationships with confidence
- Desirable:
- Experience in telecoms or electronic communications regulation (Ofcom, Communications Act, EECC)
- Familiarity with AI governance and emerging technology regulation
- Exposure to cross-border data transfer compliance or international regulatory work
- Telecoms/IT contracts drafting experience
