The Vice President, Hotel Revenue Optimization supports the Senior Vice President, Revenue Optimization & Distribution on strategic initiatives to ensure all member hotels globally optimize their revenue and distribution requirements. Further, he/she ensures all member hotels in the European region are maximizing their full revenue potential through the Preferred Hotel Group (PHG) distribution platform. The Vice President creates and maintains functional standards and requirements globally and implements them for the Hotel Revenue Optimization (HRO) function in the European Region.

Organizational Relationship

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Vice President, Revenue Optimization & Distribution, the Vice President, Hotel Revenue Optimization works closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, EVP Europe, Vice Presidents, Hotel Revenue Optimization in other global regions, Executive Director – Reservations & Distribution, Senior Director of Central Services and Regional Directors and, globally, department heads across all Commercial departments. The Vice President provides functional oversight to the HRO team in Europe.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Distribution Platform: Ensure that internal and external clients are aware of system enhancements and opportunities. Provide regular insight into internal system enhancements (i.e., CRS, Analytical reporting, Company intranet, etc.) and opportunities for improvement to department heads where applicable.
  • Revenue Account Management Certification: Maintain and update PTG Certification program; develop the program to include ongoing certification requirements. Ensure that all new HROs in Europe receive the support and training required to complete certification at the designated milestones.
  • Subject Matter Expert and Owner: Facilitates escalation of delinquent travel agent commission payments by hotels to agents in coordination with third party vendors supporting such services; Key contributor to Financial Technology development and knowledge with CRS provider across PTG and member hotels; Key Third Party (i.e., Online Travel Agent, Wholesaler, etc.) distribution partner relationships owned and coordinated through PTG; and other projects as identified by the Senior Vice President of Revenue Optimization & Distribution.
  • Regional Support: Provide functional support to the Regional HRO team including training, coaching, regular meetings and communication. Plan and execute Regional Revenue Meetings. Report on and analyze company production by channel and region including Pace and Historical viewpoints. Coordinate structure and requirements for hotel business reviews and participation levels with PTG.
  • PTG Management: Assist with projects related to PTG corporate goals as assigned. Participate in weekly distribution calls and annual strategy meetings. Provides development support in new hotel acquisition assists in key account support where needed from the Executive Vice President.
  • Consulting Services: Establish high level revenue management consultancy services to offer to member hotels with the goal to generate a profit for PTG. Work in combination with Preferred Hospitality Services to coordinate and offer these as part of the PTG product line.

Qualifications

The Person: Expert in Revenue Management and Distribution, Analytical; data driven, Commercially astute and profit driven, Travel industry knowledge and practice, Excellent communicator and presentation skills, Proven track record in delivering success through teamwork.

Role Requirements:

  • 8 years’ work experience including management of teams
  • 4+ years’ experience in travel industry in a Senior Revenue Management and/or Distribution position with team management and P&L responsibilities
  • Tangible track record of growing revenues and improving department/company profitability
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Approximately 25% travel

Technical Qualifications:

  • Proficient - Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with multiple central reservation systems and revenue management systems

Working Conditions: This is an office-based role in PTG offices at 5th Floor, The Prow, 1 Wilder Walk, London W1B 5AP, United Kingdom. Preferred will offer all technology requirements as needed.

Required Training: Orientation in London, Completion of PHG Revenue Management Certification, PHG internal tools such as Outlook, CRM, Reporting system.
