Prefere Resins is a leading European manufacturer of phenolic, specialty urea, and melamine resins, along with high-quality derivatives of methanol-(C1)-chemistry such as paraformaldehyde, formaldehyde, and hexamethylene tetramine. With 14 production sites worldwide, we provide a diverse range of resins, raw materials, and additives to clients quickly and reliably. Employing approximately 600 people, Prefere Resins generates an annual revenue of around 450 million EUR. This is a full-time on-site role based in Newton Aycliffe for an EHS Officer. The EHS Officer will manage and oversee environmental health and safety initiatives at the facility, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and company policies. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting risk assessments
  • Implementing workplace safety programs
  • Monitoring compliance
  • Managing occupational health processes
  • Providing training to employees
  • Collaborating with different teams to promote a safe and sustainable work environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS), including a thorough understanding of legal and regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Workplace Safety, and Occupational Health practices
  • Certified qualifications such as NEBOSH or equivalent are highly desirable
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with teams
  • Experience in the manufacturing or chemical industry is an added advantage
  • Commitment to promoting a safe and sustainable workplace
