Warehouse Operative
Poynton, Cheshire £14.12 - £15.21 per hour (DOE) Monday to Friday | 2:00pm – 10:00pm (Late Shift) Permanent | Full-Time
We're recruiting a Warehouse Operative to join a leading steel stockholding and processing business in Poynton.
This is a hands-on role within a busy warehouse, ideal for candidates with experience in steel stockholding, engineering, manufacturing or industrial warehousing.
You'll play a key role in ensuring products are safely stored, picked and dispatched while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload and store steel products safely using overhead gantry cranes.
- Pick and prepare customer orders accurately.
- Operate forklifts, side loaders and Combi lifts (where trained).
- Carry out goods inwards, stock checks and dispatch activities.
- Complete daily equipment checks and warehouse documentation.
- Ensure products meet quality standards before dispatch.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and work safely at all times.
About You
- Previous warehouse experience within steel, engineering or manufacturing.
- Overhead crane experience is desirable.
- FLT, side loader or Combi lift experience is an advantage.
- Reliable, hardworking and safety conscious.
- Able to work well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
