We are recruiting for a Stores Manager to take full ownership of a busy and business-critical store operation. This role has been created as the business continues to grow and now requires a Stores Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the stores team, controlling stock, overseeing purchasing and supplier negotiations, and ensuring materials are delivered efficiently to support engineers and customers. This role is commutable from Heywood, Bury, Rochdale, Bolton, Oldham, Littleborough and similar areas.
Key Responsibilities - Stores & Supply Chain Manager:- Full management of the stores and warehouse operations
- Leading and supporting a small on-site team (stores supervisor, goods in/out, picker/packer, driver)
- Ensuring stock control systems are accurately maintained (ERP / stock system experience required)
- Managing minimum stock levels, slow-moving stock, and price changes
- Purchasing materials and negotiating pricing, volumes, and delivery terms with suppliers
- Planning and coordinating delivery routes using internal systems
- Ensuring materials are delivered on time and right first time
- Driving process improvements and maintaining high operational standards
- Proven experience in a Stores Manager, Warehouse Manager, or senior supervisory role
- Strong background in purchasing and supplier negotiation
- Experience managing and maintaining stock control / ERP systems
- Confident people manager of a small team
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable taking ownership and responsibility in a small business environment
- Open to candidates stepping up from a supervisory role with the right experience and attitude
- Salary £45,000-£55,000 depending on experience
- Private healthcare (after 6 months)
