Our client is a well-established engineering business seeking a Project Engineer to join their team. This is an office-based role, commutable to Leicester.

The Role - Project Engineer:

The Project Engineer will oversee installation-based engineering projects, acting as the key point of contact for customers. You will manage projects from initial concept through to installation and completion, ensuring smooth coordination across departments.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Customer & Project Management: Manage projects from order through to delivery, acting as the main liaison between customers and internal teams.
  • Technical Support: Produce and amend 2D CAD layout drawings and assist in resolving technical or installation-related queries.
  • Logistics & Installation Coordination: Organise delivery schedules, coordinate installation teams, and ensure all required equipment and materials are in place.
  • Design & Development: Support design updates, testing phases, and product rollout, including consideration of materials and stock.
  • Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Assist in the development of new products and improvements to existing solutions.

Key Candidate Requirements - Project Engineer:

  • Experience in a project coordinator role or similar within an engineering, manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and/or edit 2D CAD drawings
  • Experience communicating with external customers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
  • Interest in or understanding of engineering principles
  • Ambitious and keen to develop a technical skillset
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Excel (including formulas)
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise with both customers and operational teams

Salary / Package:

  • Competitive starting salary (dependent on experience)
  • Company Holidays & Pension Scheme
  • Monday-Thursday day shifts, with early finish on a Friday
