The Role - Machinist - Our client is looking to appoint a Production Machine Operative.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be fully responsible for operating an industrial machine.

  • This role will be an interesting and challenging one; you will be the operator of a state-of-the-art machine.

This machine runs virtually automatically but requires consistent monitoring and intervention to ensure its smooth running. - They are looking for someone hardworking, quality-focused, with a degree of flexibility to ensure operations are maximised; this person should recognise the importance of this key role and be a team player.

Key Responsibilities - Machine Operative - Experience of operating industrial production machinery, such as CNC Mills, CNC Lathes, CNC Grinders, CNC Routers, Band Saws etc - High standard of health and safety working practise.

  • Willingness to undertake all relevant training requirements to fulfil the role.
  • Computer literacy: monitoring production numbers and making live changes to the cutting patterns issued by the production manager.
  • Ability to work well in a team to achieve production goals and meet the required standards.
  • Work closely with the engineering team and report any issues that arise.
  • Changing tooling and other associated equipment when required.
  • Housekeeping is an important factor in the smooth running of the machinery; this will be a requirement at the beginning and end of every workday.
  • Basic machine maintenance: Following the machines greasing and oiling schedule.
  • Maintain good communication with the production manager.

Requirements - CNC Operator - Previous Experience within metal or wood processing, manufacturing, or similar production environment would be advantageous.

  • Experience working on industrial machinery, such as CNC Milling, CNC Turning, CNC Grinding, CNC Router etc - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written - A hands-on, reliable and safety-conscious approach to work.
  • A good understanding of the importance of product quality.
  • Willingness to commit to 12-hour day shifts.
