This is a varied and hands-on role where you'll be instrumental in driving business growth, developing client relationships, and promoting a broad portfolio of engineering solutions particularly within industrial pumps and valves. You'll work closely with customers to deliver tailored solutions, including repairs, refurbishments, and system improvements.

The Role

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across multiple sectors
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Prepare detailed quotations, proposals, and technical reports
  • Carry out site visits and surveys with clients and prospects
  • Negotiate and secure sales agreements, including scope and terms
  • Compile and assess tenders, costings, and project requirements
  • Monitor sales performance and provide regular updates and insights
  • Maintain accurate records using CRM systems
  • Plan and manage your own schedule, including client visits and prospecting
  • Represent the business at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
  • Provide technical guidance and product knowledge to customers
  • Act as a key liaison between customers, engineers, workshop teams, and senior management
  • Support marketing initiatives, including social media engagement and campaign activity
  • Contribute to sales forecasting and performance analysis

About You

  • A proven background in sales, ideally within engineering, pumps, valves, or similar industries
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence in negotiation and problem-solving
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent organisation and reporting capabilities
  • A talent for explaining technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • A full UK driving licence
