My client is a specialist engineering company that manufactures, installs, and maintains hygiene systems for festivals, events, and temporary site locations across the UK. They are currently looking for a skilled HGV and HIAB Operator with some welding experience to support both operational transport duties and hands-on fabrication work in the workshop.

The Role – HGV Driver / HIAB Operator:

  • This role is mostly field-based during the summer months and workshop-based during the winter.
  • Driving HGV lorries to sites across the UK and Ireland, to transport shower and welfare units to festival and event sites.
  • Loading, unloading, and positioning units safely on-site, using rigid cranes / HIAB vehicles.
  • Supporting installation teams during the setup and breakdown of temporary facilities.
  • Carrying out fabrication, metalwork, and basic welding duties within the workshop.
  • Assisting with maintenance, refurbishment, and repairs of shower and welfare systems.
  • Working from drawings and specifications where required.
  • Supporting workshop operations during quieter seasonal periods.
  • Working independently and as part of a wider engineering and installation team.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required – HGV Driver / Fabricator:

  • Previous experience operating rigid crane / HIAB.
  • Holds a valid HGV Licence.
  • HIAB certification or licence.
  • Fabrication/welding experience.
  • Comfortable working within both workshop and site-based environments.
  • Practical hands-on engineering mindset.
  • Flexible approach to seasonal workloads and travel requirements.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety procedures.
  • Motivated and excellent team player.
