Leicester - LE19

£35,000 basic + monthly commission and every other Friday off

Are you an experienced recruiter who enjoys building relationships, creating strong candidate networks and growing accounts over time?

You do not need M&E recruitment experience for this role. We are looking for someone commercially sharp who knows how to build a reliable pool of candidates, stay close to clients and spot opportunities before they become urgent vacancies.

You will join our established Contract team, covering the East Midlands across M&E, building services, health & safety, facilities and related technical roles.

There is already a base to work from: warm clients, live requirements and regular three-to-nine-month contract assignments with higher value margins than other sectors. Your job is to build on that, become known in your market and grow existing client relationships into more repeat business.

What you will be doing:

  • Recruiting contractors across M&E, building services, H&S, facilities and technical roles
  • Building strong local talent pools by skill set, location and availability
  • Keeping in regular contact with contractors so you know who is good, available and ready to move
  • Developing warm client relationships and uncovering upcoming projects, workforce gaps and future hiring needs
  • Managing the full recruitment process, including candidate attraction, compliance, onboarding and contractor care
  • Growing your desk through excellent service, consistent calls and commercial follow-up

What we are looking for:

  • Proven recruitment experience, ideally in contract recruitment or a fast-paced desk
  • You could come from engineering, construction, industrial, logistics, technical, healthcare or another candidate-led sector
  • Someone who understands that building a quality candidate network is the foundation of a successful desk
  • Confident on the phone, commercially aware and able to build rapport quickly
  • Strong account-management skills and a genuine interest in growing existing relationships
  • Organised, resilient and motivated by earning well

What you get:

  • £35-40k basic salary
  • Monthly uncapped commission, paying up to 20% of GP monthly
  • Realistic commission of around £10,000 in year one and £20,000 in year two, with more available for consistent performance
  • Warm clients and live contract work from day one
  • Regular three-to-nine-month assignments across a wide technical market
  • Every other Friday off through our nine-day fortnight on qualification
  • Proper training, support and a clear route to build a high-value specialist desk
  • A straightforward, grown-up environment where effort and results are recognised

This is a proper opportunity for a recruiter who wants more than a cold-start desk. You will have a warm base, recurring contract demand and the freedom to build a market around you.
