We are looking for a Site Service Engineer to join our Site Service Team, covering the South West. The ideal candidate will have experience of field-based engineering with broad knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps, and be able to work under pressure on all types of breakdown work. Based in Cheddar and commutable from Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Glastonbury, Wells and Bath.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out site visits, site servicing, repairs and installation duties as required by the Site Service Supervisor and manager.
  • Ability to fault-find mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Ability to work alone and as a team, providing support and guidance to junior members of the site team.
  • Compile details for mechanical and/or electrical quotations.
  • Complete all documentation including risk assessments and hand in to the site service supervisor once job completed.
  • Management and operation of SMART SITE engineer tool.
  • Always adhere to Health and Safety procedures.
  • Be available for call-out shifts (rota in place 1 week on 2 weeks off) and overtime (enhanced rate) as we provide 24/7 breakdown service to our customers.
  • Any other work within your capabilities, as required by the Site Service Manager.
  • In-depth mechanical experience and knowledge.
  • Electrical experience/knowledge and/or certification required for this senior engineer role.

Skills required:

  • Previous experience within a similar industry.
  • Mechanical and electrical engineering background.
  • Knowledge of electric motors, gearboxes and pumps essential.
  • Due to the nature of the business, there is a requirement to attend call-outs.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Driving licence essential as you will be provided with a company vehicle for business use.
