What we are looking for

The mechanical fitter will take complete responsibility for repairing electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes and any specific workshop tasks as required by the Supervisors. Based in Cheddar and commutable from Bristol, Weston-super-Mare, Glastonbury, Wells and Bath.

Key responsibilities - Mechanical Fitter

  • Undertakes repairs of electric motors, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Ensures deadlines are met to meet customer expectations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as and when needed.
  • Adherence to Health and Safety protocol.
  • Complete workshop documentation and pass to Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Completion of daily timesheets.
  • Keeps a clean and tidy work area.
  • To be available for call out shift or overtime as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Perform any other duties within your capabilities as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Manager.

Skills required - Mechanical Fitter

  • Proven experience within electrical motors, pumps and gearboxes.
  • Computer skills required to basic level.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and PPE.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to work outside of normal working hours.
  • Good time keeping skills are essential.
