Our client is looking for an experienced Heating & Boiler Engineer to join their growing field service team, providing technical support, servicing and warranty repairs across domestic heating systems throughout the North of England.

The Role

This is a home-based, field service position covering a designated postcode area. You'll attend approximately 2-3 customer visits per day, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs and servicing domestic heating products while delivering excellent customer service.

Your duties will include:

  • Servicing and repairing domestic heating systems
  • Diagnosing and resolving faults on oil boilers, heating controls, hot water cylinders and air source heat pumps
  • Carrying out warranty repairs and planned maintenance
  • Commissioning products where required
  • Providing technical advice to homeowners, installers and engineers
  • Managing your daily schedule alongside a dedicated customer service team
  • Completing service reports and associated paperwork
  • Ensuring company tools and equipment are maintained correctly
  • Identifying recurring technical issues and reporting trends
  • Attending ongoing manufacturer product training

Following your initial training period, you'll work approximately 20 Saturdays per year, either paid as overtime or taken back as time off in lieu.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

  • Previous experience servicing and repairing domestic heating systems
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working on oil-fired boilers (highly desirable)
  • Experience working within customers' homes
  • Air source heat pump experience (advantageous)
  • Boiler installation experience (beneficial but not essential)
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence

The following qualifications would be advantageous:

  • OFTEC
  • F Gas
  • Unvented Hot Water
  • Part P
  • Gas qualifications

Candidates who have worked for independent heating companies or have been self-employed will also be considered.
