The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Fire Alarm Service Engineer looking for your next challenge? A growing and reputable fire & life safety specialist is expanding its field team across the North East and is looking for a skilled engineer to support sites across Newcastle, Sunderland, and the surrounding areas. This is a hands-on role focused on servicing, maintenance, and fault finding, ensuring life safety systems remain fully compliant and operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and carry out small works on Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting systems
- Perform inspections, testing, diagnostics, and fault finding
- Respond to reactive callouts and planned maintenance visits
- Work on systems including Fire Alarms, Emergency Lighting, Disabled Alarms, and Disabled Refuge Systems
- Produce clear and accurate technical reports
- Deliver excellent customer service and communicate effectively on-site
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in fire alarm servicing and maintenance
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
- Previous field-based experience and willingness to travel locally
- Confident in fault-finding and diagnostics
- Strong customer-facing skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working in commercial environments
Desirable
- Level 3 EAL / FIA qualification (or similar)
- Knowledge of BS 5839-1, BS 5266, and 17th Edition
- Interest in developing into a multi-skilled engineer
