Forensic Collision Investigator / Vehicle Examiner / Accident Investigator

Location: Nationwide (UK & Ireland) – Remote/Field-Based

Salary: Competitive, incentive-based + company benefits

About the Role

Are you passionate about forensic investigation and failure analysis? Do you have the expertise to determine the root cause of road traffic collisions? If so, this is your opportunity to join a leading forensic investigations team.

As a Forensic Collision Investigator, you will examine road traffic accidents, analyse vehicle data, and reconstruct incidents to provide scientifically accurate reports. You’ll play a crucial role in supporting legal, insurance, and risk management professionals by delivering independent expert analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site investigations of collision scenes and vehicle examinations
  • Utilise specialist tools and software for forensic analysis (including telematics, vehicle downloads and mapping technology)
  • Produce detailed, scientific and impartial technical reports for use in pre- and post-litigation cases
  • Act as an expert witness in court, or conference with counsel when required confidently presenting findings
  • Collaborate with legal teams, insurers, and law enforcement to establish collision circumstances
  • Management of files, joint statements and CPR Part 35 questions
  • Maintain meticulous evidence collection and data integrity

What We’re Looking For:

  • A degree (Level 6 or higher) in Engineering, Physics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience, for example: police vehicle examiner/ accident investigator)
  • Experience in collision investigation, vehicle examination, or forensic engineering
  • Strong report-writing and analytical skills
  • Clear communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-experts
  • A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel for site inspections
  • Previous court attendance as an expert witness is an advantage but not essential (training provided)
