Senior Safety Compliance Consultant in Birmingham

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Compliance Consultant to join a leading engineering compliance consultancy. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, commercial awareness, and strong interpersonal skills. You will be responsible for ensuring machinery and equipment compliance with a variety of international regulatory standards, advising clients, maintaining technical competencies across the Group’s worldwide operations, and contributing to international expansion efforts.

• Conduct mechanical and electrical safety assessments and risk evaluations on machinery and equipment.
• Generate detailed reports and documentation, including presentations for senior management.
• Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance within UK, EU, and US frameworks.
• Engage with clients at all levels, from on-site personnel to executive leadership.
• Work with consultants across the wider Group to ensure the required technical competencies are maintained and developed.
• Stay up to date with evolving regulatory changes and industry standards, and where necessary, communicate developments to colleagues across the Group.
• Adapt to shifting client demands and diverse project requirements.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed for on-site assessments.

• Experience with mechanical and electrical engineering principles (preferably electrical).
• Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 12100:2010.
• Knowledge of US regulatory frameworks is a plus but not required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Candidates with a Mechanical Engineering degree will also be valued, provided they have demonstrable professional experience in electrical engineering.
• Additional certifications in safety engineering are advantageous.
• Several years of experience in compliance consulting, engineering safety, or regulatory assessment.
• Experience in a consultancy setting or working with compliance bodies is beneficial.
