The QS's role is as follows:

  • Ensuring Competence and Compliance: The QS is responsible for ensuring that individuals carrying out electrical work, including inspections and testing for EICRs, are competent and adequately supervised. They must have a thorough understanding of relevant regulations, such as BS 7671 (the UK wiring regulations), and the specific requirements for reporting on existing electrical installations.
