Are you a dedicated and knowledgeable Oncology Pharmacist looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an Oncology Pharmacist to join a dynamic Pharmacy team in Harlow. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 yearly and the chance to support the Lead Oncology Pharmacist in overseeing daily operations, training the team, and ensuring best practices in Oncology care.

As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist advice for patient care.
  • Perform clinical verification of prescriptions according to GPhC & BOPA guidelines.
  • Offer timely, expert clinical advice to medical and nursing staff.
  • Support continuous improvement within Central Pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with external departments to provide efficient and safe care.
  • Assist in maintaining an organised facility, ensuring colleague training and assessment.
  • Contribute to business projects and Key Value Drivers.
  • Support onboarding of new business and patients; develop new prescription templates.
  • Resolve departmental queries and prescription issues promptly.
  • Develop training materials and provide operational and clinical training.
  • Participate in departmental audits.

The ideal Oncology Pharmacist candidate will:

  • Be a GPhC-registered pharmacist.
  • Desirable: Have experience working on Oncology wards.
  • Desirable: Be skilled in clinically screening Oncology SACT prescriptions.
  • Desirable: Have IV Oncology experience and involvement in ordering chemotherapy.
  • Desirable: Be proficient in using and managing electronic prescribing systems for Oncology patients (e.g., iQemo).
  • Ideally, hold a post-graduate qualification specialising in Oncology.
  • Show evidence of training with BOPA, such as the SACT Passport.
  • Have experience in clinical decision-making and training pharmacy team members.
