Accountable to the Sensors manager, the Junior Development Engineer will have a variety of responsibilities within the development teams including production of custom and developmental ultrasound sensors, materials and systems. Working as part of a small team, the role will involve a range of activities with initial focus on supporting production and development within the business.

This role will involve plenty of hands-on time in laboratory and light workshop environments with plenty of opportunities for on-the-job training and collaborative learning with other team members. No prior knowledge of acoustics is required for the role and the successful candidate will be supported in their training and development.

  • Electrical and acoustic testing of ultrasound sensors.
  • Oscilloscope, hydrophones, ultrasound scanning tanks, radiation force balance (training provided).
  • Design and development of assembly processes.
  • Use of workshop facilities, including lathe and mill (training provided).
  • An understanding of or interest in acoustics, electronics, mechanics or a materials science is desirable.
  • Ability to work within an ISO9001 quality system.
  • Commitment to personal development and self-learning.
