If you’re an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking for an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an ambitious, growing business, this could be the role you’ve been waiting for. This is more than an estimating role. We’re looking to recruit a commercially minded building services professional who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and building relationships. The person we’re hoping to find will also be capable of helping develop and secure high-quality Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) projects across Central Scotland.

Joining Precise Installs Group at this stage means you’ll become part of a recently established Building Services division led by an experienced team with an excellent track record in the sector. With a strong pipeline of work and ambitious, yet carefully considered plans for continued growth, this is an opportunity to influence the future of the business, work on a diverse range of projects and build a long-term career as the division continues to expand.

This is an opportunity to join a growing business where your expertise, commercial awareness and technical knowledge will influence the projects we secure and the future direction of our Building Services division. You’ll become a key member of a small, ambitious pre-construction team where your input will genuinely matter. Working alongside experienced colleagues across estimating, project management and project delivery, you’ll help develop coordinated MEP solutions for clients across Central Scotland. You’ll be trusted to contribute ideas, build strong working relationships and play an active role in the continued growth of the business.

As Mechanical Estimator, you’ll play a key role within our pre-construction team, preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) projects across a wide range of sectors. Working closely with our delivery team, you’ll develop coordinated submissions that support successful project delivery from tender through to handover. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing tender enquiries, specifications and technical drawings.
  • Preparing detailed estimates for HVAC, plumbing and mechanical installations.
  • Producing accurate take-offs and labour calculations.
  • Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Developing coordinated MEP submissions with the wider team.
  • Supporting tender reviews, client discussions and project handovers.
  • Contributing to the continual improvement of our estimating systems, processes and pricing databases.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and enjoys working collaboratively within an ambitious team. Ideally, you’ll have experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the M&E/MEP or Building Services sector, together with a background in plumbing, heating, HVAC or mechanical building services. You’ll be confident interpreting technical drawings and specifications, have excellent attention to detail and enjoy finding practical, commercially sound solutions. Experience working alongside electrical estimating teams or pricing integrated MEP packages would be a distinct advantage. Most importantly, you’ll be a good communicator, someone who takes personal accountability seriously and values teamwork.

Joining Precise Installs Group means becoming part of a business with ambitious, yet carefully considered plans for the future, and an experienced team that’s passionate about delivering quality. You’ll work on varied and complex projects, enjoy genuine opportunities for career progression and be part of a supportive, collaborative environment where your contribution is recognised and valued.

In return, we offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Genuine career progression opportunities.
  • Exposure to varied and technically interesting projects.
  • A collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • The opportunity to help shape the future of our Building Services division.

If you’re an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking for a role where you really can make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
