Fabrication Supervisor

Fabrication Supervisor Location: Birmingham Salary: £35,000–£42,000 per annum, depending on experience Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Precise Recruitment Services Ltd is seeking experienced Fabrication Supervisors for current and upcoming opportunities with manufacturing and engineering businesses in Birmingham. The successful candidate will oversee daily fabrication and welding activities, lead a skilled workshop team and ensure production is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise welders, fabricators and workshop operatives. Plan and allocate daily workloads across the fabrication department. Ensure production targets and customer deadlines are achieved. Monitor workmanship and maintain high quality standards. Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications. Provide practical support with complex fabrication and welding work. Ensure materials, tooling and equipment are available when required. Monitor productivity, downtime, waste and rework. Carry out quality inspections on completed components. Identify and implement process improvements. Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures. Train, support and develop members of the fabrication team. Work closely with production, engineering and quality departments. Report progress, issues and performance to management. Candidate Requirements Previous experience supervising a fabrication or welding team. Strong practical background in welding and metal fabrication. Experience with MIG and/or TIG welding. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Good understanding of fabrication processes and quality standards. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills. Ability to manage workloads and meet production deadlines. Knowledge of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment. Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel or aluminium would be advantageous. A recognised welding, fabrication or engineering qualification would be beneficial.
