Our leading global law firm client are actively looking to take on a newCloud & Infrastructure Architect (Virtualisation, Nutanix, Networking, Encryption, IAM) to join their team on a permanent basis, this role will be a crucial part of the UK Systems Engineering team. this role can be performed remotely around the UK with occasional travel to the London office.

This role will join two new Engineers in the London office and act as the Architect in a well-rounded and collaborative team of Infrastructure & Cloud specialists, the environment is a hybrid mix of on-prem and cloud based solutions roughly 60-40% split. This Cloud & Infrastructure Architect (Virtualisation, Nutanix, Networking, Encryption, IAM) will serve as a technical authority to the UK team and lead in projects across both cloud & Infrastructure. Owning solutions across Virtualisation, Storage, Resilience, Azure, IAM, Security etc.

to be considered for this Cloud & Infrastructure Architect (Virtualisation, Nutanix, Networking, Encryption, IAM) role, it's ideal that you have:
/n
/n
- 15 Years of experience within technology
/n
- 10+ Years in engineering and 5+ Years as a subject matter expert
/n
- Expert understanding of Virtualisation, Health/Status monitoring tools, Networking & Encryption
/n
- Expert understanding of cloud architecture and design
/n
- Preferable but not required law firm experience
/n
/n
The Architect will:
/n
/n
- Research, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to address business challenges.
/n
- Architect, engineer, and deploy to production technical solutions, including detailed architectural design documentation, standards, and reference architectures.
/n
- Transition systems from engineering to operations by providing documentation and training to technical staff.
/n
- Lead technical projects and sub projects across the department.
/n
- Serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant to other technical staff and groups.
/n
- Be the top level responsible party for escalated support, working directly with external vendors and consultants to resolve issues.
/n
- Observe confidentiality of all Firm and client matters.
/n
- Perform any other responsibilities or special projects as assigned by management.
/n

Technical Expertise:
/n
/n
- Expert understanding of virtualization/hyperconverged technologies, specifically Nutanix
/n
- Expert understanding of implementing proper health/status monitoring for mission critical systems
/n
- Expert understanding of networking (routing and switching) including the ability to analyze a packet trace
/n
- Expert understanding of encryption and security best practices and methods
/n
- Solid understanding of NAS/SAN technologies and virtualized storage
/n
- Solid understanding of PowerShell and general scripting
/n
- Expert understanding of cloud architecture and design across Azure and AWS, including IAM, landing zones, and hybrid connectivity
/n
- Ability to define cross-domain reference architectures, technical standards, and technology roadmaps that guide engineering teams
/n
- Ability to lead technology selection and vendor evaluation, balancing technical, security, and business requirements
