A growing organisation with an exciting transformation roadmap is looking for a proactive Infrastructure Engineer (Networking, Cisco, Firewalls, Switches) to support the day-to-day performance, maintenance, and evolution of its group-wide IT systems. This role is perfect for someone hands-on and ambitious, who enjoys technical variety and working within a collaborative, high-performing IT team.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Oversee and maintain infrastructure operations to ensure system reliability and performance
- Support the rollout of upgrades, installations, and integration projects across group companies
- Provide technical escalation support to the Service Desk
- Manage supplier relationships (IaaS, managed print, software vendors)
- Participate in IT projects, including acquisition integrations
- Contribute to documentation, user guidance, and system standards
- Work with Azure IaaS, Office 365, and networking technologies
- Maintain endpoint protection, security gateways, and telephony systems (Meraki, Zoom Phone)
- Explore new technologies to improve IT services
- Participate in shift pattern cover (between 07:30-17:30) and occasional out-of-hours work (with overtime pay)
What We're Looking For:
- Strong experience in Windows Server 2016+, Azure IaaS, and Office 365
- Familiarity with Cisco Meraki, Zoom Phone, and LAN/WAN networking
- Exposure to infrastructure as code and Azure DevOps
- Background in endpoint protection, email/Internet security gateways, and general systems troubleshooting
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A proactive, positive team player who thrives in a fast-growing environment
- Flexibility to travel to UK-based regional offices as needed
- Basic knowledge of the insurance industry is desirable but not essential
