A growing professional services organisation is looking for a SQL Database & SharePoint Platform Engineer to join their internal technology team in Birmingham. This role would suit someone with strong hands-on experience supporting and developing SharePoint environments alongside solid SQL Server administration skills. The balance of the role is heavily weighted towards SharePoint rather than a traditional production DBA position.
The successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating across SharePoint administration, platform support, SQL, integrations and business-facing technical support.
Key Responsibilities- Support, maintain and improve the organisation's SharePoint environment
- Manage SharePoint permissions, structure, workflows and platform administration
- Support SQL Server databases and associated integrations
- Troubleshoot platform, data and application issues
- Assist with upgrades, migrations and platform improvements
- Work closely with internal users and technical teams to support business-critical systems
- Support data integrations and automation processes
- Ensure platform stability, performance and security
- Strong commercial experience with SharePoint administration/support
- Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries
- Experience supporting integrations, workflows or data processes
- Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience working in a production/support environment
- Power Platform exposure
- SSIS or integration tooling
- SharePoint Online/Microsoft 365

- Experience within professional services or legal environments
This role is not suited to:
- Pure Infrastructure DBAs with limited SharePoint exposure
