Role Female Senior Support Worker
Locations: The Hyde, Wembley
Salary: £12.81
Essential – Experience with Autism and Challenging Behaviour, 12 months UK experience as a Senior Support Worker
Shifts: You will be required to do a mix of early and late shifts ranging from 7.30am to 10.00pm
Contract: Permanent full time & requires working alternate weekends

Services
The Wembley Services provides Supported Living services for adults with Learning Disability, Autism needs & Behaviours that may be described as challenging. Individuals are adults and our aim in these services is to develop skills, independence and confidence as fully as possible both at home and in the community.

Overview
To take the lead as Senior Support Worker in the provision of support, to act as key worker where appropriate and to take personal responsibility for dealing with emergency or complex situations that may arise. To provide high quality support to people based upon their needs and wishes using a person centred approach.

The manager is looking for an experienced Senior Support worker with the below skills and qualities who has proven experience in a service that can be challenging.

  1. Leadership – using own initiative, a project or activity in which they demonstrated leadership.
  2. Evidence of supporting people towards set goals and positive outcomes. Through key working responsibilities, service champion, or achievements linked to supporting people.
  3. Awareness of regulatory framework, including safeguarding, and Health & Safety Issues at work. Including CQC inspection regime & relevant legislation.
  4. Working as part of a team – managing conflict effectively, evidence of challenging bad practice, leading by example while supporting & motivating others in your team.

Duties

  • To take the lead in the development of Person Centred Plans for people and to implement the elements of the plan as a member of the staff team.
  • To act as a key worker for individual people where appropriate.
  • To take the lead in dealing with emergency or complex situations that may arise.
  • To lead the implementation of Person Centred Plans and support people in their daily living and personal care based upon the Active Support Approach.
  • To support people in undertaking activities or development in their own home and in the community, including employment, education and other opportunities.
  • To maintain records as required relating to people\’s lives, service and individual financial affairs.
  • To assist with the drawing up of risk assessments relating to individuals and the service in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of all and to implement and contribute to the review of these.
  • To liaise with external parties, carers and parents as required.
  • To be responsible for the supervision of other Support Workers as required.
  • To undertake any other duties commensurate with the general level of responsibility of the job.
