We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to join our 9-bed residential service at Phoenix House in Manor Park, London, supporting adults with autism and learning disabilities. This is a key leadership role within a small, person-centred residential service where you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality care in line with CQC standards. You will help lead a dedicated staff team, promote positive outcomes for individuals, and ensure the service continues to operate to a high standard of compliance and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of a 9-bed residential service
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the care team to deliver high-quality, person-centred support
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and support documentation are accurate, up to date, and regularly reviewed
- Promote independence, dignity, choice, and wellbeing for all individuals supported
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and all incidents are appropriately recorded and escalated
- Support CQC compliance, audits, inspections, and ongoing quality monitoring
- Assist with rota planning, supervisions, appraisals, and staff performance management
- Provide hands-on support when required, including personal care
- Participate in an on-call rota to support the service out of hours
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in a senior support worker or deputy manager role within a residential or supported living service
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards
- Experience supporting adults with autism and/or learning disabilities
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to support and develop staff teams
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexibly between 7:30am and 10:00pm
- Commitment to delivering person-centred, high-quality care
- Desirable NVQ Level 3 or Level 5 in Health & Social Care (or working towards Level 5)
- Experience working in a small residential service environment
- Experience in audits, compliance, and quality assurance processes
