The role involves supporting children within an Early Years setting who have additional needs, including pupils who may be non-verbal or require higher levels of support. EYFS SEND Teaching Assistant – The Role- Supporting children with SEND within Nursery or Reception
- Working 1:1 and in small groups
- Supporting communication, engagement and play-based learning
- Using sensory and Early Years approaches to support development
- Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and families
- Experienced EYFS Teaching Assistants
- SEND TAs with Early Years experience
- Support staff experienced supporting non-verbal pupils
- Individuals with a nurturing and patient approach
- Experience working within EYFS
- Experience supporting children with additional needs
- Understanding of play-based and sensory learning approaches
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
