Salary & Benefits Package
- From £38k-£45k per annum
- Annual salary is typically offered, but we convert this to an hourly rate and pay weekly every Friday.
- This will be based on a standard 40 hour week.
- Work hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
- Annual leave: 33 days, including statutory holidays.

Role and Responsibilities
Role SummaryThe Air Conditioning (AC) Engineer at PREAH Building Services is responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair services to a range of air conditioning systems, including chillers and refrigeration units, across commercial client sites. Operating within our Facilities Management Division, this mobile role involves daily travel between client locations to ensure HVAC and refrigeration systems operate efficiently, reliably, and safely. The AC Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining comfort, compliance, and client satisfaction, while representing PREAH’s high standards of professionalism and service.
Core Responsibilities- Perform routine PPM tasks on split systems, VRV/VRF, and multi-split air conditioning units. This includes work on chillers and refrigeration equipment where required.
- Diagnose faults and carry out reactive repairs to restore system functionality promptly.
- Replace components such as motors, compressors, sensors, and control boards as needed.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with F-Gas regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HVAC standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the FM Supervisor immediately.
- Complete job sheets, service reports, and compliance documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain clear records of refrigerant usage and parts replacements for audit purposes.
- Keep supervisors informed of job status, system issues, or additional work required.
- Work cooperatively with other mobile engineers and support staff to meet service-level agreements.
- Provide technical support to junior team members and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Liaise with clients on-site in a professional and helpful manner.
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent.
- F-Gas Category 1 certification (2079).
- Valid CSCS card and full UK driving licence.
- Proven experience in commercial HVAC, chillers, and refrigeration system maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Proficient in brazing for assembly and repair of metal components.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily schedules across multiple sites.
This is a full-time, mobile role based across various commercial client sites. The engineer will travel between multiple locations daily, performing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) and attending reactive repair callouts. Work will include out-of-hours support via a rota system and requires flexibility to respond to urgent issues as they arise.
