Role Description
In this full-time, on-site role based in Soho London, the Senior/Associate Director Measured Building Surveyor will lead and deliver complex measured building surveys across a range of commercial assets. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and undertaking site surveys
- Managing data capture using appropriate surveying technologies
- Producing accurate drawings, models, and reports (including NIA, GIA, GEA area measurement reports, lease plans, and full measured surveys)
- Overseeing project delivery from instruction through to final reporting
- Ensuring quality control, adherence to industry standards, and consistency with RICS guidance
- Mentoring and supervising junior team members
- Allocating resources and coordinating with colleagues across building consultancy, project management, and sustainability services
- Contributing to fee proposals and client presentations
- Direct client liaison, attending site and client meetings
- Supporting business development by maintaining and expanding client relationships
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in measured building surveying, including full measured surveys, area measurement (NIA, GIA, GEA), and production of accurate drawings and plans
- Strong technical proficiency with surveying instruments and software (e.g., laser scanners, total stations, CAD/BIM tools such as AutoCAD and Revit, and related data processing platforms)
- Thorough knowledge of relevant standards and guidance (including RICS measurement standards, building regulations, and best practice in commercial real estate surveying)
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, coordinating resources, and delivering work to agreed scopes, budgets, and timelines in a consultancy environment
- Effective leadership and people-management skills, including mentoring junior surveyors and fostering a collaborative, high-quality delivery culture
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical, numeracy, and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and consistency
