A welcoming and community-focused Primary School is seeking a Year 1 Teacher with responsibility for Phonics to join their team from March. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced KS1 teacher with strong phonics expertise, or for a teacher ready to take on a subject leadership role within a supportive school environment.
The school places a strong emphasis on early reading, consistency across Key Stage 1 and smooth transition from EYFS, supported by a collaborative staff team and clear leadership structures.
The Role
- Full responsibility for a Year 1 class
- Leading and developing the school's phonics provision
- Supporting staff with phonics planning, delivery and assessment
- Monitoring pupil progress in early reading and phonics
- Supporting targeted interventions to ensure strong early reading outcomes
- Creating a structured, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
- Working closely with senior leaders to support whole-school priorities
