The CEO is responsible for the day-to-day management of PRCA’s business, finances, resources and staff in accordance with the Association’s strategy and business plans. They will report to the Management Board and attend all its meetings, working with the members of the Board to develop the strategy and business plans. The CEO is accountable for the growth of the Association, both in terms of membership and associated incomes, and in terms of reputation as a highly effective Association for this industry. The CEO also supports the operations of the independent Standards Board who hold the regulatory responsibilities of the Association.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and delivery of the strategic plan for growth, including working with the Management Board to gain approval for the plan.
  • Create and manage a balanced scorecard of KPIs for the management, governance and growth of the PRCA and the regular reporting of progress, strategic and operational, to the various sub-committees of the Association.
  • Provision of effective financial reporting and controls as defined and agreed by the Management Board and ensure all annual reporting requirements are met.
  • Ensure good governance structures, internal controls and risk management arrangements are in place to protect the organisation as appropriate.
  • Act as a spokesperson for the membership and industry, alongside the Association’s elected President and other Board Chairs.
  • Build and sustain a creative, innovative, collaborative and transparent organisational culture, with supporting organisational policies and procedures, where providing value to members is the key driver of focus.
  • Ensure that diversity, inclusion and equity strategies and policies are embedded and effective.

Qualifications:

  • Prior senior leadership experience as a chief executive or executive director.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and relationships with governance bodies, employees, external stakeholders, and members/customers.
  • Proven experience of profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow management, and general finance and budgeting.
  • Exceptional relationship builder with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a high degree of emotional intelligence, empathy, and an ability to influence, persuade and negotiate at the highest levels.
  • Able to scrutinise financial, budgetary and performance data and ensure fiscal compliance and probity.
  • People leadership skills, including development, management of performance and increasing engagement.

The role is based in London but requires travel around the UK and occasionally internationally. Financial package in the range £150K - £180K, including performance-related bonus ~10% Pension ~27 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays ~ Life Assurance ~ Health Insurance.
