The Frieze Curator Travel Grant 2026 is an international professional development initiative presented by Frieze in partnership with the Upė Foundation and the Czernecki Educational Foundation. The programme is designed to support emerging and mid-career curators from the Baltic region and Poland by providing direct access to one of the world's leading contemporary art fairs.

Six selected curators will travel to London during Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2026, where they will participate in a curated four-day programme featuring:

  • Panel discussions
  • Museum and gallery visits
  • Networking opportunities
  • Behind-the-scenes engagement with leading figures across the international art world

The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Frieze, Upė Foundation, and the Czernecki Educational Foundation to strengthening international cultural exchange and expanding professional opportunities for curators from Central and Eastern Europe.

Selected participants will receive:

  • Fully funded travel from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, or Poland to London
  • Accommodation in London from 13–17 October 2026
  • VIP access to Frieze London and Frieze Masters
  • A curated four-day professional programme including museum visits, gallery tours, and panel discussions
  • Networking opportunities with leading curators, artists, galleries, and arts professionals from around the world

Eligible Locations: Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Estonia

The grant is open to emerging and mid-career curators based in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, or Poland. Applicants should demonstrate an active curatorial practice and an interest in engaging with the international contemporary art ecosystem. Six curators will be selected to participate in a funded professional development visit to London during Frieze London and Frieze Masters 2026.

Requirements:

  • Complete the online application form
  • Demonstrate curatorial experience and current professional practice
  • Be available to travel to London from 13–17 October 2026
  • Meet the residency/location eligibility requirements
  • Submit all requested supporting materials through the application portal
