Birmingham | Monday–Friday 8am-6pm (45 hour contract) | £32,000 - £38,000 DOE

We are seeking a professional and proactive Front of House Host to join us at 5 Brindley Place, Birmingham. As the face of the building, you will provide an exceptional service to tenants, visitors and contractors, creating a welcoming, safe and well-presented environment while ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and customer care.

This is a standalone role within a prestigious commercial office environment, home to a high-profile corporate occupier. As such, we are looking for someone who is confident, resilient, self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership. You'll be trusted to manage front-of-house operations, oversee building presentation, support security and compliance procedures, handle confidential information with discretion, and communicate professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.

We're looking for an individual who enjoys being visible, building strong relationships and solving problems. You'll be encouraged to identify opportunities for improvement, challenge processes that could work better, and make a meaningful contribution to the day-to-day experience of everyone who uses the building.

About the role:

You'll be the welcoming face of 5 Brindley Place, providing a professional, friendly and proactive Front of House service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the building.

You'll be responsible for:
  • Delivering a professional, welcoming front-of-house service, ensuring reception is always clean, organised and presentable.
  • Answering calls and welcoming visitors to reception in a professional, friendly and efficient manner.
  • Providing prompt, helpful and proactive support to visitors, tenants, contractors and colleagues.
  • Liaising with management to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the building.
  • Arranging and carrying out daily checks in conjunction with management.
  • Carrying out daily inspections of internal and external entrances.
  • Supporting cleaning standards and reporting any issues to management immediately.
  • Ensuring landscaped areas are well maintained and reporting any issues to management immediately.
  • Ensuring all health and safety checks are carried out as requested by management.
  • Ensuring deliveries and contractors are properly recorded on site and effective access and egress control is maintained.
  • Preventing, detecting and investigating offences on site, signs of intrusion and security concerns.
  • Ensuring doors and gates are secure and unauthorised personnel do not enter restricted areas.
  • Responding to emergency situations and liaising with emergency services where required.
  • Testing fire alarm systems, including setting and disengaging the alarm panel, activating call points and responding promptly to alarm activations.
  • Accurately reporting incidents and recording daily activities and irregularities.
  • Logging and storing lost property in line with procedures.
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality in respect of tenants and others.
  • Maintaining positive working relationships with all tenants.
  • Delivering newsletters and communications to tenants.
  • Updating and changing poster sites as required.
  • Supporting management with viewing requests from agents.
  • Supporting events and hospitality operations from setup through to completion.
  • Undertaking other miscellaneous duties relating to general service as requested by management.

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who is professional, approachable and proactive, with a genuine focus on delivering excellent customer service. As this is a largely stand-alone role, you'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing your own time and prioritising daily responsibilities without constant supervision.

You will report into our National Building Standards Manager, based in London. Strong communication and reliability will therefore be important, as will the ability to know when to take ownership and when to escalate an issue..

You'll ideally have:
  • Confidence using IT systems, reception tools and basic office technology.
  • Previous experience working with business space tenants within an office or corporate workspace environment is essential.
  • Clear, professional and confident communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a proactive, helpful and solutions-focused approach.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good awareness of health, safety and security responsibilities within a managed building environment.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and responsive.
  • Fire Marshal training.
  • First aid training.
Benefits:
  • 25 days' holiday per year plus bank holidays
  • Private Medical Insurance (medical history disregarded)
  • Annual Dental benefit inclusive of two appointments per year
  • Healthcare Cash Plan
  • 5% Company pension contribution
  • 3x Life Assurance
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Group income protection scheme
