This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing private equity team with a strong track record. You will gain hands-on experience in managing a private real estate portfolio and executing asset investment business plans while working across multiple disciplines, including investor relations, portfolio management, and corporate development. We are looking for an individual who is financially competent, analytically minded, and curious, with strong writing and problem-solving skills. While real estate knowledge is beneficial, we can provide training in this area for the right candidate. Excel proficiency and the ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential.
Praxis is a well-established privately owned investor and manager of UK real estate with a track record of exceptional investment performance rooted in astute market timing and best-in-class management. The business was established in 2009 but traces its origins back over three decades and multiple economic cycles. Praxis works with a range of private equity, local authority, institutional and high net worth partners utilising its unique integrated platform and team of over 400 employees to manage and optimise all aspects of the real estate value chain. Praxis operates from offices in London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investor Relations (c.20%)
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with investors through regular communication, including calls and in-person meetings.
- Manage relationships with lenders, providing updates and analysis as required.
- Investor Reporting (c.30%)
- Prepare quarterly written investment updates on asset business plans.
- Produce quarterly market updates covering capital markets and relevant property market activity.
- Fund & Portfolio Management (c.30%)
- Provide financial and commercial oversight of the current portfolio, supporting key investment decisions.
- Collaborate with asset managers to assess and recommend decisions on leases, capital expenditure, and asset sales to maximise investor returns.
- Identify and evaluate value-add initiatives, such as asset restructuring opportunities.
- Work closely with the finance team on portfolio valuations, covenant compliance, and the automation of financial models.
- Drive operational improvements, including the use of AI to enhance reconciliations and reporting.
- Assist in originating debt for new investments and refinancing by producing cash flow models and lender presentations.
- Corporate Development (c.20%)
- Support fundraising efforts for new discretionary funds and separate accounts.
- Explore opportunities for new asset management mandates and lender work-out mandates.
- Review acquisition materials and cash flow models with the deal team.
- Contribute to corporate development initiatives, including ad hoc pitches and presentations.
Key Skills & Experience:
- Circa 5+ years experience in a similar role
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think logically and commercially.
