Job summary

Part of a team providing taxation services to various jurisdictions and companies within the Praxis Group.

Responsible for the delivery of tax compliance and reporting services for a portfolio of fiduciary clients, including trusts and companies, together with internal group reporting.

The role combines technical tax expertise with supervisory responsibilities, ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tax compliance work, supporting the development of junior team members, and acting as a key point of contact for tax-related matters

  • Job accountabilities
  • Responsibility for a portfolio of trust and company clients, ensuring all tax compliance and reporting obligations are completed accurately and within statutory filing deadlines.
  • Preparation and review Group tax reporting requirements for trusts and companies, including, but not limited to, Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, ATED, Inheritance Tax returns, RISPG calculations and VAT.

Noting potential growth and development into other areas and jurisdictions as required.

  • Review work completed by Trainee and Junior Group Tax Business Partners and provide technical guidance, coaching, training and constructive feedback.
  • Assist in overseeing workflow, allocation of work and prioritisation of tasks within the tax team, by working with the tax management team.
  • Review trust and company accounts from a tax perspective and identify tax risks.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and ensure filing obligations are met.
  • Act as a point of reference for tax queries from other departments across the Group, with the support of the tax management team.
  • Liaise with clients, beneficiaries, settlors and professional advisers on tax matters as required.
  • Assist with more complex tax matters under the guidance of senior members of the team.
  • Support fee quotation, budgeting and billing processes.
  • Assist with procedural improvements and maintenance of departmental controls.
  • Assist in delivery of internal tax training sessions across the Group.
  • Minimum education and experience
  • Educated to a minimum of A-Level standard or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant tax experience.
  • ATT or STEP or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) preferred.
  • CTA studies commenced or willingness to pursue further professional qualifications desirable.
  • Experience working with fiduciary structures, trusts and companies preferred.
  • Required skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK taxation, with knowledge of other jurisdictions taxation desirable.
  • Ability to review work and identify technical issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop junior team members.
