The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Management Accountant to join our growing Finance team, following the internal promotion of our current role holder.
This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a defined portfolio of group entities within Praxis, a growing, vertically integrated commercial real estate business.
You’ll work closely with an experienced Finance team while having the autonomy to challenge, improve and influence how we work.
As Praxis continues to grow, this is a role where your contribution will be visible and where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your experience, broaden your commercial exposure and make a genuine difference.
What makes this role interesting?
This isn't a role where you'll simply produce the numbers and move on.
We want someone who understands what is driving financial performance and can turn financial information into useful commercial insight.
You’ll own the quarterly management accounts process across your portfolio, including P&L, balance sheet, reconciliations, billing, accruals, prepayments, intercompany and variance analysis.
You’ll also support budgeting and forecasting, statutory accounts and audit, working closely with operational teams across the business.
There’s also plenty of scope to improve processes and automate where possible, so if you see a better way of doing something, we want you to have the confidence and freedom to make it happen.
About you
- Experience: 2–3 years’ experience preparing management accounts end-to-end, ideally across multiple entities.
- Business environment: Experience working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial or growing organisation, with the ability to take ownership and adapt to change.
- Statutory & audit: Demonstrable experience of year-end statutory reporting and working directly with external auditors.
- Deadlines: Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent reporting deadlines across several entities without compromising accuracy.
- Systems: Strong Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables and the ability to work with large data extracts.
- Communication: Ability to write clear commentary and explain financial results to non-finance stakeholders.
- Mindset: Strong attention to detail, combined with a commercial and curious approach to understanding the numbers and what drives performance.
- Experience within a property company, managing agent, real estate investment or development business
- Experience of process improvement or finance system implementation
- Experience using Sage Intacct or a comparable multi-entity cloud accounting platform
- Exposure to multi-entity group reporting, intercompany accounting and consolidation
- Awareness of the reporting requirements of an FCA-regulated group entity
- Salary from 70K DOE
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
- Additional holiday with service
- Private Medical Insurance (medical history disregarded)
- Annual Dental benefit inclusive of two appointments per year
- 5% Company pension contribution
- 3x Life Assurance
- Cycle to work scheme (on-site shower room facilities & bike parking in majority of head offices)
- Employee Assistance Programme
- Daily healthy fruit & snacks
