As Head of Facilities Management, you will have overarching responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of facilities management across the Business Space portfolio. This senior role involves ensuring that the PFM operating model is fit for purpose and aligned with Praxis’ business objectives. You will provide leadership and support to Regional Facilities Managers (RFM) and site teams, ensuring compliance with statutory obligations, health and safety regulations, and best practices. You will act as the subject matter expert within facilities management, driving innovation and operational excellence. In close collaboration with Asset Managers, Property Managers, and other department heads, you will ensure effective integration of facilities services, contributing to the overall performance and sustainability of each asset. Additionally, you will oversee contract management, onboarding/offboarding processes, and ensure smooth transitions under TUPE regulations. Through routine site visits, you will maintain a strong presence, ensuring that KPIs and objectives are met while fostering a cohesive and efficient team environment. Your role is instrumental in safeguarding the quality, safety, and operational efficiency of all Business Space assets within the portfolio.
Main Duties
- To support the delivery of a resource plan and input into the PFM structure across the Business Space portfolio.
- Line management responsibility for all RFMs, providing guidance and support in the management of all PFM site staff.
- Ensure the PFM operating model in each Business Space asset is fit for purpose and managed effectively.
- To have responsibility for statutory compliance and H&S across Business Space assets.
- Be recognised as the subject matter expert within Facilities management, providing insight and guidance on best practice and innovation.
- To act as the facilities management interface with other department heads and ensure there is effective collaboration between RFMs, BMs and PMs.
- To manage the PFM operational onboarding/offboarding, TUPE and contract management process.
- To provide M&E strategies to AMs and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to meet the ESG strategy.
- To routinely visit each asset to provide ongoing support to RFM & site-based teams and ensure KPIs and PFM objectives are being delivered.
- Interface with AMs to ensure that operational delivery is aligned to the Praxis business plan.
- Manage induction process for new direct subordinates and their teams.
Personal qualities, requirements and skills
- Extensive, strong H&S knowledge and understanding. Preferred NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma qualified.
- Confident in leading portfolio-wide initiatives, empowering managers to understand and adopt new practices.
- Strong legislative knowledge of H&S requirements.
- Demonstrable commercial acumen, and strong budgetary and financial management abilities.
- A motivational leader with strong communication skills, demonstrating key core instincts.
- Creative approach to delivering first-rate outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
- Capacity to manage multiple, diverse projects concurrently.
- Commercially astute with ability to align H&S requirements to business objectives.
