Position Overview
Working within a busy fast-paced production environment, we are seeking a Production Operator to join our team in Swindon. This role will work a double day shift pattern after training where you will receive an additional shift pay.
Main duties:
- You will perform Level 2 penetrant inspections (FPI & DPI) in accordance with EN 4179, NAS 410, customer specifications, and internal procedures.
- Interpreting and evaluating indications to determine compliance with acceptance criteria will form part of your role.
- You will accurately document inspection results, maintain traceability records, and support internal/external audits.
- Conducting daily/weekly system checks and maintain penetrant process control requirements will be part of your role.
- You will identify defects, raise nonconformance reports, and collaborate with production and quality teams.
- You will maintain equipment condition, cleanliness, and readiness.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensure safe working practices will be part of your role.
Key candidate requirements:
- You have a valid NDT Level 2 certification in Penetrant Testing (PT) to EN 4179 and/or NAS 410.
- You have experience performing FPI and DPI in a production or aerospace environment.
- Strong understanding of penetrant testing principles, defect mechanisms, and material behaviour is desirable.
- You have the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently is required.
- You have strong communication skills and commitment to quality and safety.
- Experience working in aerospace, automotive, defence, or precision manufacturing, knowledge of NADCAP NDT requirements and additional NDT method certifications (MT, UT, VT) are beneficial.
