Optimisation Technology Analyst (UK)

Optimisation Technology Analyst Location: Office based role in Weybridge, Surrey We are recruiting for an exciting Optimisation Technology Analyst role within our Integrated Supply and Optimisation department under the Planning and Optimisation team. This role reports directly to the Planning and Optimisation Manager. Key responsibilities include: Maintain and update the refinery LP model, working with the Planning and Optimisation manager, refinery planning team, and process engineers to ensure it is fit for purpose. Update process model representation in the LP in coordination with process engineers. Maintain the crude oil database used for the LP model (GRTMPS), refinery planning and scheduling software (FLOWERS), and other evaluation tools. Generate new entries from publicly available assay information or data supplied by traders. Lead the upkeep and improvement of crude oil blending and quality monitoring tools. Initiate crude oil analysis requests when incoming cargo quality deviates from database information. Generate draft pre-processing reports for opportunity crude oils in coordination with relevant teams. Conduct or support process and opportunity studies to improve refinery valorisation. Support refinery budgeting processes. Act as a backup for the Refinery Economist position when needed. Jobholder Attributes: Degree qualified Chemical Engineer with over 5 years of relevant refining experience or demonstrated professional competence. Strong business acumen with knowledge of linear programming models and refinery economics. Self-starter with analytical problem-solving skills.
