We are looking to expand our talented team with an experienced Exploration Geophysicist to help shape the future of our exploration efforts.Role Overview:As an Exploration Geophysicist , you will be responsible for coordinating and conducting geophysical studies, including seismic interpretation, volumetric estimation, and risk assessments, to support the exploration and development of energy resources. You will work closely with multidisciplinary subsurface teams and play a pivotal role in identifying and assessing exploration opportunities. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to the company\’s growth and success in the energy sector.Key Responsibilities:Interpret geophysical data from regional to prospect level, providing high-quality seismic analysis.Oversee seismic interpretation for prospective areas and maintain a mapped prospect and lead inventory.Communicate and address geophysical uncertainties effectively to inform decision-making processes.Provide technical input to drilling programs and resource maturation plans.Represent The Prax Group at Technical Committee meetings and engage with external stakeholders, including the North Sea Transition Authority.Contribute to new business evaluations, supporting the identification of new exploration opportunities.Manage exploration activities within approved subsurface budgets and supervise contractors for specialist studies.Mentor and guide less experienced technical staff to enhance team capabilities.Required Qualifications & Experience:A degree and post-graduate qualification in Geoscience or a related discipline.Proven experience in exploration assets with substantial involvement in well programs and exploration planning.Strong technical expertise in deepwater turbidite plays and both structural and stratigraphic trap settings.Proficiency in seismic techniques, including well ties, depth conversion, amplitude analysis, and AVO modelling.Experience with 3D Seismic Elastic Inversion, structural restoration, and volumetric calculations (deterministic and probabilistic).Familiarity with UKCS operations and understanding of regulatory frameworks.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both specialists and non-specialists.A proactive, highly analytical approach with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks under pressure.Why Join Us?
