Collins Aerospace is expanding at the HS Marston Aerospace facility on Wobaston Road in Wolverhampton. We are seeking a Skilled Fabricator/Sheet Metal Worker to join our production team. This role involves mechanical assembly, sheet metal work, fabrication, and general finishing of products made from aluminium and steel, which are then welded and tested before final quality inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly guidelines
  • Assemble and test productions through different stages
  • Work with the production team to meet project targets and deadlines
  • Support ACE activities (5S, TPM, Turnbacks, Clinics)
  • Maintain LOT traceability and quality control
  • Continue ongoing internal and external training to fulfil welding certification requirements
  • Ensure a clean, organised working environment and compliance with company standards
  • Comply with all Environmental Health & Safety requirements

Shift Schedule

Shifts are rotating: Morning 6:00AM–1:45PM (Mon–Thu), 6:00AM–12:00PM (Fri). Afternoon 2:00PM–10:00PM (Mon–Thu), 12:15PM–5:15PM (Fri).

Required Security Clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or similar vocational qualification in fabrication, mechanical or engineering subject (time served will be considered)
  • Proven experience in hand fabrication
  • Experience with sheet metal
  • Experience working to high tolerance
  • Familiarity with precision tools such as verniers, digital calipers or measuring gauges
  • Experience in aerospace, motorsport or similar industries is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
