Role Overview
Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the design, manufacture, and testing of aluminium and steel components for a range of aircraft systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly guidelines.
- Assemble and test products at various stages of production, including air‑under‑water and safety‑proof testing.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project goals and deadlines.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives such as 5S, TPM, turnbacks, and clinics.
- Maintain traceability of materials and adhere to rigorous quality‑control standards.
- Pursue ongoing training, including welding certification requirements.
Shift Requirements
This role requires flexibility to work rotating shifts: Morning (6:00AM–1:45PM Monday–Thursday and 6:00AM–12:00PM Friday), Afternoon (2:00PM–10:00PM Monday–Thursday and 12:15PM–5:15PM Friday). Night shifts may be required with ample notice.

Required Security Clearance
This role may involve access to export‑controlled information and hardware. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory security checks, export license approval, and completion of a non‑disclosure agreement.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level3 or equivalent vocational qualification in fabrication, sheet‑metal work, mechanical or engineering (experience considered).
- Proficiency with precision tools such as Vernier calipers, digital calipers, or measuring gauges.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, and experience meeting high‑tolerance standards (e.g., to a thousandth of an inch).
- Demonstrated experience in hand fabrication and sheet‑metal work.
- Experience in aerospace, motorsport, or similar industries is advantageous.
