Position: Senior Platform Engineer – Manchester, Lancashire – Permanent, full time (Hybrid, minimum 3 days on site)
Role & Responsibilities
Work as a Senior Platform Engineer, deploying applications and software to cloud or on-premises environments for our many business areas. Willing and eligible to hold SC and eDV clearance.
- Build and set up development tools and infrastructure
- Understand the needs of project stakeholders
- Automate and improve development and release processes
- Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
- Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
- Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Qualifications
- Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model
- Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
- Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
- Experience in building and deploying large‑scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines; container platform and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker)
- Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, ConcourseCI or cloud equivalents
- Experience in scripting languages and source control

37‑hour working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site‑specific arrangements.
