Position Overview: The role leads a global team of multidisciplinary engineers responsible for aircraft interior product design, development and in‑service modification, ensuring compliance with regulatory and airworthiness requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead global multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to design and deliver aircraft interior modification programmes, ensuring KPI achievement, schedule adherence, and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Own the engineering stress responsibility for galley upgrades, cabin reconfigurations, monument modifications, trim & finish changes, and airline customisation projects.
- Perform and approve structural assessments using hand calculations and computer‑based analysis methods, and develop substantiation reports and certification documentation.
- Provide technical leadership as SME, checker, and approver, resolving complex cross‑functional engineering challenges.
- Lead design reviews, engineering investigations, risk assessments, and quotation studies to support strategic program execution and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years experience in a technical engineering or stress role.
- Strong STEM background (degree highly desirable).
- Expertise in static FEM analysis for metallic and composite materials, with ability to develop modelling techniques and suggest improvements.
- Structural analysis expertise across classical static methods.
- Current or prior M1020 Check and Approval signatory status highly desirable.
- Experience with aircraft interior products and knowledge of FAA/EASA requirements a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to negotiate outcomes with local and global stakeholders.
